There are numberless possibilities to spend your winter holidays: There are many walking tracks in the valleys and also on the Schmittenhöhe, with guidance, there even is a snow-shoe walking. Horse sledge rides and tobogganing are organized in the evening.
The frozen Lake offers possibilities fir ice-skating, Eisstockschiessen (typical Austrian sport), Walking, cross-country skiing and even ice sailing.
This area is guaranteed with snow from Christmas until Easter. On the glacier you can even go skiing the whole year round. With one ski pass you have access to all ski lifts. The bus transfer between Thumersbach, Zell am See and Kaprun is also included.
For cross-country skiing there are about 200 km well prepared ski runs.
The Skiing area Europa-Sportregion consists of the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. Here you find 130 km of Skiing slopes divided by 49 down hills of all difficulties. For Snowboarder there is a cool Funpark with Halfpipe.
